The Cisco Kid (DVD)

This western television series depicts the exploits of the Cisco Kid (Duncan Renaldo), based upon a character from the O. Henry short story collection HEART OF THE WEST (1907). The Cisco Kid was portrayed in many early films, including IN OLD ARIZONA (1928), for which Warner Baxter as the Cisco Kid won the second Academy Award for Best Actor. Renaldo first played the part in a 1945 Monogram theatrical feature, THE CISCO KID RETURNS. Viewed as outlaws by lawmen, the impoverished looked upon the flamboyantly dressed Cisco Kid and his amusing companion Pancho (Leo Carillo) as courageous heroes.
